Liz Brown

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Liz Brown brings more than an impressive resume of executive and entrepreneurial skills to LiivMD. As a dedicated social worker, advocate, and educator, she has changed the lives of countless people. Today, she infuses her mission at LiivMD with that same compassion and purpose. In 2001, Liz created Turtle Nest Village, a groundbreaking program that provided housing, education, and life skills to homeless former foster youth in Florida. This award-winning program has been replicated in numerous cities. As founder and CEO of LiivMD, Liz again demonstrates her ability to identify a need, envision possibilities, and create solutions. LiivMD is the latest example of her commitment to helping others improve their lives.

Debra M. McPhee, PhD.

Chief Operating Officer

Former Dean of Barry University School of Social Work in Miami, Florida, Debra McPhee brings more than 20 years of executive leadership from academia and professional social work practice to LiivMD. Having worked throughout the US, Canada, and Europe in both Germany and the Netherlands, she is versed extensively in international educational culture. Debra’s extensive, funded research experience includes published work in the areas of international healthcare policy, child welfare, curriculum development, interdisciplinary collaboration, welfare reform, and social work education. Debra offers to LiivMD her administrative, organizational, and curriculum development leadership skills.

Joel M. Evans, M.D

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Joel Evans is recognized and respected in the field of integrative and allopathic medicine. As an Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Women’s Health at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, the Founder and Director of the Center for Women’s Health in Stamford, CT, and a senior faculty member of both the Institute of Functional Medicine and the Center for Mind/Body Medicine, Dr. Evans is proud to bring his extensive knowledge and experience as a physician educator and clinician to LiivMD. In his role of CMO, Dr. Evans is responsible for the creation and oversight of medical content and messaging to both health professionals and the general public.

Trishan Arul

Chief Financial Officer

Trishan oversees the firm’s financial operations, including the daily activity of bookkeepers. He brings 15 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, strategic planning, process improvement, systems implementation and financial analysis. Trishan has worked in many different industries, with a wide array of companies from start-ups to public multinational corporations.

Gary Greinke

Chief Revenue Officer

Gary Greinke has a proven record of success in business development, selling programs to health plans and Fortune 500 decision makers in human resources and benefits. Gary’s solid sales expertise at managing client relationships through strategic planning, creative problem solving, project management, and extensive knowledge of the healthcare market is a perfect fit with LiivMD market strategy.

Geoffrey Fleming

Chief Information Officer

As one of the early team members of Craigslist, Geoff Fleming’s experience ranges from high-level project management skills to engineering, marketing, and company operations. Geoff brings over 15 years of experience to LiivMD as an Internet executive, entrepreneur, and consultant. His understanding of local and marketplace technology will position LiivMD to be a leading resource in the health and wellness industry.

Matthew Pullerits

Lead Developer

Matthew Pullerits holds a masters’ degree in computer engineering, is a published academic author, and has over 10 years of experience in Internet application development. His exceptional skills include technical architecture and implementation, software and database development, graphic design, and business consulting. In addition to serving as the primary developer for all of the LiivMD properties, Matthew is the primary architect and developer of the EckhartTolleTV.com website and is founder of InkShuffle.com.

Sarah Tucker

Business Development

With over 12 years of Web and business development experience, Sarah Tucker is uniquely positioned to grow partnerships and advertising opportunities for LiivMD. Sarah’s experience ranges from an early entertainment start-up in the San Francisco Bay Area to developing global revenue strategy for Blizzard Entertainment.

James Abee

Executive Director of Media

James Abee is an accomplished creative executive with over 20 years’ experience working in film, television, and new media. Bringing an in-depth background in story and strategic messaging to LiivMD, James has developed original content for entertainment, information, and health and wellness platforms worldwide. Most recently, he spent five years at Al Gore’s Emmy-award winning television network, Current TV, where, as Director of International Programming, he helped design and launch multiplatform networks in the US, UK, and Italy.

Bernadette Murphy

Executive Editor

Medical writer, senior editor, content developer, and former ICU nurse, Bernadette Murphy offers to LiivMD a unique synthesis of both conventional and alternative medical systems gleaned from a 30-year immersion in the health, wellness, and personal development industries. Bernadette has written abroad and for Madison Avenue ad agencies, has an extensive background in digital media writing, and has written for many physicians, providing them with an online voice and presence.

Justin Barba brings years of experience to LiivMD, working within the healthcare field as a patient care coordinator, project manager, consultant, and chief operations officer for various primary care, integrated care, and internal medicine practices. Justin’s unique skills and in-depth knowledge help LiivMD and our clients navigate the complex healthcare market as it relates to insurance, practice workflow, and the creation of a quality experience for patients and consumers.

Court Coursey

Advisor

Court Coursey is Managing Partner of TomorrowVentures, LLC, which identifies innovative, globally significant concepts, pairs them with exceptional management, and provides capital and counsel. Court also advises several high net-worth families seeking outstanding investment options. He is founder of Cx, a consumer-based cloud computing company. Drawing on his diverse background as a successful entrepreneur, he has been instrumental in developing LiivMD’s financial and investment structures.

James Held

James Held served as Chairman, President, and CEO of the well-known Home Shopping Network. He was also Chairman of the Board and acting CEO of Smart Bargains, Inc., and a successful online retailer of off-price branded consumer products. Currently James is the President and CEO of JPBK Consulting, Inc. In addition to his professional life, he serves on various charitable boards. James is a graduate of Allegheny College and holds a JD degree from Albany Law School of Union University.

Eric Schmidt

As Chairman of the Board of Google, Eric Schmidt has an unparalleled understanding of technology and information platforms. He has been a major seed funder for LiivMD during the company’s development and expansion, and a mentor to LiivMD’s CEO.

Michael Slaby

Advisor

Michael Slaby spent the past two years as Deputy Director of New Media, then Chief Technology Officer for Obama for America. He also served as Technology Director for the Presidential Transition Team. During his career, Mike has successfully led multimedia design and development, in addition to Web application and platform development, for a series of start-ups. Michael is a graduate of Brown University.

Bob Van Gieson was appointed Chairman and CEO of DUAL International in July 2009. With over 40 years’ insurance experience and previously President and CEO of Arch Insurance Company Europe, Bob successfully built Arch from a start-up operation into a $500m business. He was also Chairman of Arch Europe and sat on the board of its Lloyds Syndicate. Prior to his time with Arch, Bob worked for CNA Financial, where he was responsible for five business units with a revenue base of $1 billion.
